Both manufacturers and users of fibre systems will benefit from the flexible image capture, video recording, and storage capabilities of the new system

Available from Moritex Europe is a new system enabling on-site inspection of fibre connectors Through integrating its powerful, yet affordable video PalmScope with a fibre optic connector video microscope, a new versatile solution for inspecting the ends of fibre connectors in-situ is now available

Both manufacturers and users of fibre systems will benefit from the flexible image capture, video recording, and storage capabilities of the new system facilitating true on-site micro-inspection and quality control.

Operating the system is simple even for untrained operators.

The seven front panel buttons on the video PalmScope provide intuitive control of image viewing, freezing, storing, file name editing and review by means of a gallery of video icons and thumbnail images.

Unlike many existing fibre inspection systems the whole power for the video PalmScope and microscope is supplied from a single on-board Ni-Mh battery pack that may be recharged from an external power supply unit.

Tested and approved to CE and FCC regulations the video PalmScope offers a choice of language for all on-screen display operations in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

Incorporating a 6.4 inch (16 cm) TFT LCD screen the system is also capable of displaying and freezing high quality (512x768 resolution), full frame resolution jpeg images on screen at the touch of a single button.

With a potential 1Gb on its removable CompactFlash card storage capacity, the video PalmScope can store thousands of compressed images or 30mins of video.
