Sintered porous metal for inertial gas
sampling
Mott all-metal inertial gas sampling (IGS) filters allow the collection of particle-free samples from virtually any gas stream, even those which are very hot or heavily contaminated
Unlike other gas filters which may quickly plug and need to be discarded, Mott IGS filters are designed to provide long-term or, in many cases, permanent filtration, in a variety of difficult gas sampling applications Typical applications include gas sampling in utility coal pulverisers, lime kilns, cement kilns, and fluid catalytic crackers

The IGS filters feature a cross-flow design which keeps most particles in the gas stream, greatly reducing obstruction of the filter element.
These filters can withstand temperatures up to 780C in oxidising atmospheres and up to 925C in reducing or neutral atmospheres, depending on the material of construction.
The Mott IGS filter can be constructed in a variety of high-strength alloys such as 316LSS, nickel, Hastelloy, and Inconel.
The strength and durability of Mott's porous metal media permits use in highly corrosive environments, as well as high-pressure applications with differential pressures in excess of 1000psid.
Mott's porous metal media is used in many applications that require a sturdy media that can provide flow control, filtration, distribution of flow, and controlled porosity in even the harshest environments.
The company's design teams are continually engineering porous metal components, sub-assemblies and finished products for applications in a wide variety of industries, including medical, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical, instrumentation, environmental, food and beverage, semiconductor, energy and fuel cells.
Uniform porosity and pore size of Mott's porous metal products guarantees consistent performance.
The incredible strength and durability of Mott's porous metal makes it the perfect material for use as protective sheathes (for delicate sensors), or even as structural supports.
And no other media offers the level of integrity necessary for repeated cleaning and re-use that porous metal provides.
