Interest 'high' in Analytica 2008
Organiser says Analytica 2008 is generating a great deal of interest among manufacturers and service providers in the analysis, laboratory-technology and biotechnology sectors
Four months before the beginning of Analytica 2008, the number of companies that have registered for the 21st international trade fair for instrumental analysis, laboratory technology and biotechnology at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre from 1-4 April 2008 confirm the fairs status as a leading international exhibition, says the organiser Hans-Joachim Heusler, managing director at Munich International Trade Fairs, reported on the current status: "Both the industry's leading manufacturers as well as a number of new and returning exhibitors have registered to participate in the fair"

New exhibitors include companies such as Solvias, a Swiss chemicals and life-science research company, Honeywell Specialty Materials, a fine and specialty-chemicals manufacturer, and Duran, a laboratory glass specialist.
Companies returning to Analytica 2008 include laboratory-equipment manufacturers such as Waldner, and Hohenloher, and measuring-equipment manufacturer Hanna Instruments.
New exhibitors and companies returning to Analytica 2008 after a period of absence can be found in all three exhibition sectors - ie, analysis and quality control, laboratory technology and biotechnology, and life sciences and diagnostics - which will occupy 50,000 square metres of space in five halls.

There will also be more joint exhibits from other countries at Analytica 2008: Great Britain and Spain will each have two national pavilions, and the United States will have three joint exhibits at next year's fair including a new pavilion from the state of Pennsylvania.
Organisers are expecting joint exhibits from China and India, and Finland has also inquired about a pavilion.
Analytica has also seen increased demand from European companies that want to present their products, solutions and services at their own stands in Munich: there have been sizeable increases among manufacturers and suppliers from Italy, France, and Switzerland.
In some cases, the number of companies registered to date has already reached or exceeded the final status of the last two Analyticas in 2006 and 2004.
According to Heusler: "As of early December, 17 French exhibitors had registered for the fair, so we have already surpassed Analytica 2006, which had 14 French companies, and Analytica 2004, which had 13.
"The number of exhibitors from Switzerland, which is currently at 30 companies, has also surpassed the final number at the last two exhibitions".
The list of German and international manufacturers exhibiting at Analytica includes Akzo Nobel, Analysis Jena, Bruker, Carl Zeiss, Deutsche Metrohm, Eppendorf, Hamamatsu, Horiba, JAS; Leica, Mettler Toledo, Olympus, Perkin Elmer, Shimadzu, Thermo Electron, Varian, VWR, Waters, and WTW, just to name a few.
The biotechnology, life-sciences and diagnostics hall (A3) will be home to renowned companies such as Beckman Coulter, Becton Dickinson, Bio-Rad, Biozym Scientific, Boehringer Ingelheim, Euroimmun, Fermentas, GE Healthcare, Greiner Bio-One, Merck, Roche Diagnostics, and Syngene.
Innovative biotech companies and start-ups at the joint exhibits of Bayern Innovativ, TU Dresden Biosaxony, BioCentiv in Jena and the stand of the Luckenwalde biotech park will also be located in the biotech hall.
"For the first time ever, these leading biotech companies, biotech clusters and university stands will be joined by the InnovationsArea and a Made in Germany joint exhibit that is being funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology;" explains Heusler.
The managing director of Munich International Trade Fairs continues: "As a result, Analytica 2008 not only reflects the growing importance of biotechnology, it is also a key source of momentum for progress and innovation in the life-sciences sector.".
