systems

Offers advanced measurement services features including a clean, concise programming interface, programmatic channel and task creation, and tight integration with more than 70 Labview functions

National Instruments has announced DaqMX Base, an open Linux driver and programming interface for NI E series multifunction data acquisition devices and NI DIO-96 digital I/O devices The new driver software offers Linux users innovative NI-DaqMX measurement services technology as well as increased ease of use in connecting with high-performance NI data acquisition hardware

NI-DaqMX Base offers advanced measurement services features including a clean, concise NI-DaqMX programming interface, programmatic channel and task creation and tight integration with more than 70 Labview analysis functions, features previously available only with NI-DaqMX for Windows.

The new driver software also includes ready-to-use Labview virtual instruments and C function features similar to those included in the full-featured version of NI-DaqMX measurement services software.

National Instruments built the NI-DaqMX Base driver software for Linux using the NI measurement hardware driver development kit (DDK) and developed the software almost entirely in the multiplatform Labview graphical development environment.

This lightweight and agile architecture makes it possible to quickly develop NI-DaqMX Base driver software for additional operating systems in the future.

Engineers currently using other operating systems such as VxWorks, QNX and Mac OS X can use the low-level programming interfaces included in the NI measurement hardware DDK to create drivers for a variety of NI measurement products. Request a free brochure from National Instruments ...
