Standards awards retained
Successful conversion of BS5750 to ISO 9001:2000 and retention of Investors in People status for manufacturer of temperature control equipment
In recognition of its quality management standards, Nickel-Electro, manufacturer of the Clifton range of temperature control equipment, has successfully converted to ISO9001:2000 and retained its Investors in People (IIP) status ISO 9001:2000 is the international standard relating to quality management systems

Originally known as BS5750, the latest standard now focuses on five key areas: quality management systems, management responsibility, resource management, product realisation, measurement analysis, and improvement.
All companies originally registered under the previous standard are obliged to be re-evaluated to ensure they met the new standards by 15 December 2003.
Nickel-Electro has been working towards this prestigious recognition of its practises since the start of 2003, and successfully completed a demanding two day transition audit with no discrepencies.
All companies who hold the ISO 9001:2000 are inspected twice a year to ensure that high standards are maintained.
The IIP Investors in People accolade recognises Nickel-Electro's effective investment in staff development, and links in with the resource management section of ISO 9001:2000.
Nickel-Electro first achieved this last year, and their continued commitment to staff training means they have successfully been re-recognised.
Melvin Dickson, Nickel-Electro managing director, says: "We are all absolutely delighted to learn that the company's hard work has been recognised.
"Everyone here has played their part and it has encouraged us to work even better as a team.
"We have improved our performance across the board to meet the new standards, and the IIP has meant we have open forums for staff feedback and have seen a number of staff develop and learn additional skills.
