Single step laser microdissection
Fully automated UV dissection system allows users to view samples on screen and outline areas of interest, and to dissect and safely isolate these cells for further PCR extraction
Following the recent agreement with Molecular Machine and Industries (MMI), to sell its cell manipulation products, the MMI Cellcut laser microdissection system is now available from Nikon Instruments This represents a fully automated UV dissection system that, when coupled to video imaging on the Eclipse TE2000, allows users to view samples on screen and outline areas of interest using the mouse or screen pen, and to dissect and safely isolate these cells for further PCR extraction

Slide scanner is optimised for oil immersion work
Purpose-designed for oil immersion, the Aperio ScanScope OS from Nikon creates high-resolution digital slides of blood smears, bone marrow, Gram stain, and other specimens requiring high magnification
Ideal for scientists working with or wishing to extract DNA, RNA and/or proteins, this reliable, precise and contamination free system uses cold UV laser technology, meaning samples are not exposed to additional heat or radiation that could damage cells.
The system provides the perfect platform to perform live cell cutting and cell transfer from existing or archived slides, even if frozen.
Cellcut automatically cuts the sample, measures cell dimensions, determines the area, and documents the event.
An overview image of the entire sample is provided on screen as a reference point for easy navigation.
Furthermore, Nikon's TE2000E computer optimised optics and a high precision stage ensures accurate positioning, better than one micron.
Isolated samples are securely removed using a new adhesive membrane, which protects the tissue on the slide against cross contamination.
A single step collection picks up only dissected cells for further processing.
The samples are collected in the same orientation as on the intact sample - so that positions can be verified, if needed.
In contrast to some other microdissection systems the samples are fixed at all times - there are no loose or falling samples.
MMI's Cellcut system comes complete with powerful software that memorises the set up for each lens on the microscope ensuring the correct focus and laser power.
This also enables precise delineation of the cutting path - including the cutting of multiple samples. Request a free brochure from Nikon UK ...
