Integrated plate changing system for used with micro parallel liquid chromatography system provides walk-away automation to meet increasing demand in high-throughput analytical laboratories

Nanostream, provider of high-throughput microfluidic analytical systems to companies involved in drug discovery and development, introduces an integrated plate changing system to be used in conjunction with the Veloce micro parallel liquid chromatography system The plate changing system automates the exchange of microwell plates for use with the Veloce system autosampler

The Veloce system and integrated plate changing system benefit users seeking to increase their analytical throughput for a variety of drug discovery applications.

The plate changing system holds up to 50 recommended SBS standard 384- or 96-well microplates.

(High capacity racks are available for up to 70 plates.) By storing plates in vertical towers, the plate changing system has a relatively small footprint that minimises space requirements in the lab.

Nanostream says it developed the plate changing system to be easily incorporated into users' current automation workflow and liquid-handling processes.

By enabling users to control plate selection via barcode entry, the Veloce system facilitates full automation of LC-based assays.

The software delivers sampling precision by enabling the user to pre-program sample sequences for routine use.

The user-friendly format does not require specific knowledge to operate, and it frees scientists to perform other research activities throughout the duration of the analyses.

"Labs are facing more pressure to increase analysis capacity with fewer resources.

"We want to equip scientists with high-throughput tools like the integrated plate changing system to accomplish more with less less operating time, less solvent, fewer people," said Hau Duong, vice president of engineering.

"With the ability to robustly process plates 24/7, scientists will not only finish more analyses, they will have the freedom to undertake new and meaningful projects.".
