Nature Methods, which will be distributed internationally, is described as a new cutting-edge methodology journal for life scientists and chemists

Nature Publishing has developed a new laboratory techniques journal which will launch in October 2004.

The premise of Nature Methods is to serve the scientific community with a high impact methods-oriented publication that continues the established tradition of excellence that is expected from a Nature publication.

"Nature Methods appeal to life scientists and chemists alike will be its quality, novelty and diversity" said Rachel Burley, publisher of Nature Methods.

The quality aspect of the journal will insure that only papers describing a new methodology or significant advance will be selected and will be rigorously peer reviewed.

Novelty will be incorporated by the selection of new methods, a new combination of methods or a significant improvement to an existing method with the emphasis on originality and impact.

Published papers will cover a wide array of methods and techniques of interest to researchers of all disciplines, hence the diversity factor.

Nature Methods's content will include highlights of recent methodology developments, detailed protocols, application notes, technology reviews, methods and techniques papers, professions and events.
