The American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT) and Nature Publishing Group (NPG) announce a new publishing partnership covering Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CPT)

Starting in January 2007, NPG will publish ASCPT's journal, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CPT) - the most cited journal publishing original research in pharmacology At that time, the journal will be re-launched with a new editor and editorial team

Scott Waldman of Thomas Jefferson University, who will become the journal's new editor-in-chief, will expand the existing high-quality research into coverage of critical issues across the continuum of discovery, development, regulation and utilization in human therapeutics.

Waldman explains, "Building on the solid foundation established by my predecessors, I am looking forward to working with NPG to continue to increase the visibility of the journal, thereby advancing the science of human therapeutics and promoting the discipline of clinical pharmacology".

CPT is a cross-disciplinary biomedical journal devoted to publishing the most exciting advances in pharmacology and therapeutics, as they pertain to advances in translational and clinical medicine.

It is recognized as one of the most prestigious journals in the field.

With an impact factor of 6.825, CPT ranks in the top 4.2% of scientific journals in the latest Science Citation Index.

"NPG joins the ASCPT partnership with great enthusiasm".

"We look forward to developing the translational scope of this premier journal, increasing the impact of its content and setting new standards in clinical pharmacology" said Annette Thomas, NPG's Managing Director, about the new partnership.

Founded in 1900, ASCPT is a scientific society dedicated to the better understanding and use of existing drug therapies, and developing better and safer treatments for the future.

ASCPT works to foster the recognition of clinical pharmacology as a discipline at the forefront of the discovery, development, regulation and use of safe and effective medicines.
