3 February 2010 - Ocean Optics has announced that Cheng-An J Lin is the winner of the SPIE 2010 Young Investigator Award, sponsored by the company.

The Young Investigator Award is presented to a researcher that is no more than five years out of school and who has authored the best juried paper submitted as part of the 'Colloidal Quantum Dots for Biomedical Applications V' session of the Nano/Biophotonics Programme Track of the 2010 Bios/Photonics West.

Lin, a post-doctoral researcher at the Center of Nano Bioengineering, Chung Yuan University in Taiwan, was honoured for his work as lead author of 'Synthesis and Surface Modification of Highly Fluorescent Gold Nanoclusters and Their Exploitation for Cellular Labeling'.

7 December 2009 - Ocean Optics has launched a website dedicated to the needs of its OEM customers.

The site offers product, application and engineering information geared specifically to the makers of analytical equipment requiring optical and oxygen sensing components.

6 August 2009 - Ocean Optics has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification applicable to the design and manufacture of electro-optical equipment.

The company's quality management system was audited by National Quality Assurance, USA and found to be in compliance with the provisions of the ISO 9001:2008 standards.

ISO 9001:2008 certification ensures that a company has met a comprehensive set of standards dictated by the International Standards Organization (ISO) covering all aspects of the business.
