MLS offers recombinant proteins from yeast

A Meridian Life Science product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 26, 2008

MLS introduced a line of recombinant proteins earlier this year.

These proteins are produced in yeast for assay development and research applications and have improved folding and glycosylation characteristics compared with E.coli-produced proteins.

Information is available from MLS on all of the following infectious disease, cardiac enzyme or EGF recombinant proteins from yeast: Recombinant Hepatitis B Core Protein (catalogue no.

VTI610): entire core protein - total 183 amino acids.

Appears as a 23kDa band on Western blots.

Recombinant Hepatitis C Nucleocapsid Protein (catalogue no.

VTI710): amino terminal 120 amino acids encode a 16 kDA protein.

Appears as a monomer at ~ 19 kDa on Western blots.

Recombinant HIV-1 gp41 Protein (catalogue no.

VTI310): ecto-domain of gp41 from Strain HxB2, amino acids 546 and 682.

The protein is seen predominantly as a series of band from 20 to 30 kDa on Western blot.

Recombinant HIV-1 p24 Protein (catalogue no.

VTI340): entire p24 protein from Strain HxB2 - total 231 amino acids.

Recombinant HIV-2 gp36 Protein (catalogue no.

VTI360): ecto-domain of HIV-2 gp36.

Recombinant HSV-1 gD Protein (catalogue no.

VTI 510): glycosylated recombinant ecto-domain of HSV-1 gD.

A 319 amino acid sequence comprised of the external domain of gD molecule without membrane spanning and cytosolic sequences.

Recombinant HSV-2 gD Protein (catalogue no.

VTI540): glycosylated recombinant ecto-domain of HSV-2 gD.

Recombinant HSV-1 gG Protein (catalogue no.

VTI520): amino terminal 190 amino acids (Met1-Asp190) of the glycoprotein gG from HSV-1 Strain Patton, fused with human superoxide dismutase (SOD).

Encodes a 35.7 kDA protein.

Recombinant HSV-2 gG Protein (catalogue no.

VTI530): HSV-2 gG unique sequences (amino acids Leu343-Asp649) not present in HSV-1, fused with human superoxide dismutase (SOD).

Recombinant Human Creatine Kinase BB Isoenzyme (catalogue no.

VTI830): full length, with amino acid sequence exactly the same as native enzyme.

Recombinant Human Creatine Kinase MB Isoenzyme Type I (catalogue no.

VTI840): full length Creatine Kinase MB Isoenzyme without the C-terminal lysine on the M subunit.

Recombinant Human Creatine Kinase MB Isoenzyme Type II (catalogue no.

VTI810): full length, with amino acid sequence exactly the same as the native enzyme.

Recombinant Human Creatine Kinase MM Isoenzyme Type I (catalogue no.

VTI850): full length Creatine Kinase MM Isoenzyme without the C-terminal lysine on both subunits.

Recombinant Human Creatine Kinase MM Isoenzyme Type III (catalogue no.

VTI820): full length, with amino acid sequence exactly the same as the native enzyme.

Recombinant Human Epidermal Growth Factor (catalogue no.

VTI880): amino acids 1-53 of the human EGF native sequence.
