Ohaus has announced the addition of the Defender 5000 Series bench scales to its line of measurement products.

This series features rugged indicators that are suitable for bench and floor scales, in settings such as commercial kitchens and bakeries where bulk weighing occurs in wet conditions.

The displays are housed in a dry-use ABS plastic housing and an NEMA4X/IP66-rated water resistant stainless steel housing, which meet the highest standards set by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

The Defender 5000's multifunctional indicators offer multiple weighing units and software modes to meet the requirements of industrial and lab applications.

Indicators can be configured via clear prompts in menu style.

In contrast to scales that require a table of code entries, the Defender 5000 indicators allow users to select their weighing mode and unit.

The indicators display the time and date and store GMP data.

Both the steel and plastic housings feature large, bright backlit displays and raised tactile keys.

The Defender 5000 Washdown Scales have four capacity models available: 25, 50, 100 and 250lb (10, 25, 50 and 100kg).

This series is made of stainless steel with NEMA4X/IP66 protection for the base, and loadcells protected to IP67.

Combined with the Defender 5000 T51XW indicator, also housed in NEMA4X/IP66, this scale is fit for complete washdown use.

The Defender 5000 General Purpose Scales come in square and rectangular models.

The square scales have four capacity models available: 25, 50, 100 and 250lb (10, 25, 50 and 100kg).

The rectangular scales have capacity models ranging from 30 - 600lb (15-300kg).
