An Ohaus product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Apr 23, 2009

Ohaus has introduced the VX Series of rugged, portable, low-profile floor platform and indicator scale packages.

The VX Series is ideal for freight consolidators, freight forwarding services, processing plants, resellers, shipping and receiving departments, as well as start-up businesses.

The quick-connect ports and factory calibration of the VX Series allow the scales to operate with minimum setup.

The VX Series combines a 5000d NTEP floor scale (VX2500L and VX5000L) with four analogue load cells and a stainless steel NEMA4X/IP66 indicator (T31XW), featuring an RS232 interface.

The VX Series also offers optional, attachable ramps.

The VX Series features: 2,500lb (1134kg), 5,000lb and 10,000lb scale capacities; 4 x 4in (101.6 x 101.6mm) and 5 x 5in platforms with structural bracing, which ensure a rigid construction; 1/8in (up to 5,000lb models) and 5/16in (10,000lb models) thick top plate with raised cross-hatch surface for added durability and slip resistance; four IP67 nickel-plated alloy steel load cells; side access NEMA 4X/IP65 dust and water protected junction box with 25-foot long cable; eye bolt mounting holes to allow easier lifting and positioning of the platform; factory-wired and pre-calibrated with Ohaus T31XW stainless-steel indicator; 304 stainless-steel construction with NEMA 4X/IP66 protection; piece-counting mode for warehousing and inventory applications; built-in bidirectional RS232C interface for printing or connection to PC.

Platform models (capacity x readability): VX2500L (2,500 x 0.5lb); VX5000L (5,000 x 1lb); VX100000L (10,000 x 2lb); VX5000X (5,000 x 1lb); and VX10000X (10,000 x 2lb).
