Swanscott takes over from Trinder at
Olympus UK
Alan Trinder - general manager for Olympus Diagnostic Systems in the UK and Ireland - will retire at the end of September 2007 to be replaced by Steve Swanscott
During his 18 years at Olympus, having joined in October 1989, Alan Trinder has been instrumental in the growth of the UK division through his extensive knowledge of the clinical chemistry market and laboratory medicine in the UK Piers Devereux, managing director of Olympus UK, said: "Alan has done an exceptional job of growing and developing Olympus's diagnostic business in the UK from its inception to the successful business it represents today

"It gives me great pleasure to announce that Steve Swanscott has been promoted to take over the role of general manager - Olympus Diagnostics Systems".
Swanscott joined Olympus in January 2007 as the national sales manager for diagnostics systems, with 20 years experience in the IVD industry.
He will assume the position of general manager on 1 October 2007, with Trinder acting in a supportive role during the transition period until the end of February 2008.
