Scheme makes these magnets more
attractive
Direct purchase scheme will enable NMR users to buy world-class superconducting magnets straight from the manufacturer, at significantly reduced prices, significantly reducing the overall system cost
Oxford Instruments has announced the launch of a new programme for direct sales of its NMR magnet systems, at the Euromar conference in Veldhoven, Netherlands For the first time, the NMR Magnets Direct programme will allow customers to benefit from buying a wide range of affordable, world-class superconducting magnets directly from Oxford Instruments

Super sized superconducting magnet
The world's largest wide bore NMR magnet, the fundamental component of a 900MHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer, comes to field
In response to market demand for higher and higher field strengths to analyse larger and more complex molecules, Oxford Instruments is providing the opportunity to purchase its award-winning NMR magnets straight from the manufacturer, at significantly reduced prices, thus significantly reducing the overall system cost.
High performance magnet technologies from Oxford Instruments are a critical element in NMR operating environments, enabling superb quality, high-resolution, chemical, life science and drug discovery experiments.
An NMR magnet from Oxford instruments will operate perfectly for decades, says the company, and during its lifetime it may be integrated with a number of different spectrometer systems.

A system purchase decision is usually based on a number of specification related parameters and customers will welcome the opportunity to obtain the right magnet for their particular application.
Oxford Instruments says all its magnets are compatible with any spectrometer, allowing the customer to make an independent, objective decision.
"We decided to launch the NMR Magnets Direct programme as part of our dedication to meet and exceed the ever-widening demands of the NMR community and in response to recent customer feedback," said Damian Stone, global sales and marketing manager of Oxford Instruments Magnet Technology Group.
"For over 40 years, our company has been designing and developing magnets to meet the experimental demands of the NMR community.
"Today, Oxford Instruments magnets are at the heart of over 6000 NMR installations throughout the world.
"At the time of installation we will run a comprehensive set of NMR tests to prove all magnet specific criteria are met.
"As a supplier to all of the major NMR vendors, this is exactly what we have done at renowned laboratories around the world," he continued.
"Oxford Instruments will, for the first time, be able to offer customers direct access to our unequalled, high-performance magnet technologies.
Some of the new, innovative products available for direct purchase include the Eshield 600MHz NMR magnet, combining state of the art shielding technology and compact dimensions for siting in restricted locations.
The new AS800MHz (AS800) and 950MHz magnet systems are also available, respectively offering ultra-compact dimensions and the highest commercially available magnetic field strength for NMR.
Oxford Instruments is a company which has enjoyed a number of world firsts including the first commercially available system at every field strength from 200-600MHz, production of the first 800MHz operating at 4.2K, and the first commercially available 900MHz superconducting magnet.
Through the NMR Magnets Direct purchase scheme, Oxford Instruments will enable NMR users to access the technology that led to these world firsts and help facilitate the advancement of NMR for the scientists that use it.
