OpTek Systems announces venture in North
America
OpTek Systems has announced that Andrew Webb has joined the organisation as head of business development to facilitate further penetration into the US market
OpTek Systems, headquartered in Abingdon UK, is expanding its operations to serve its North American customers by establishing local sales and support based in New England with immediate effect It is planned to add further facilities in early 2007 addressing laser micro machining and fibre optic processing

OpTek Systems designs and manufactures production ready precision laser machining equipment capable of producing micron scale features in most materials.
Complementing the system capability, contract machining services are available for development of applications and manufacturing on a job shop basis.
Andrew Webb has worked in the laser industry in both the UK and North America for the past 16 years.
For the last eight of these he has been based in the USA managing the sales and support operations of a leading laser micromachining company and he has extensive experience of laser materials processing technology and markets.
"This expansion is a direct result of demand for OpTek Systems's laser processing capability, automation and contract services in the electronics, medical component, semiconductor and fibre optic areas.
