A unique new fully traceable Ukas accredited calibration product from Starna allows users of plate readers to validate their measurements in the UV region

The drive for higher sample throughput has encouraged many laboratories, particularly in the life sciences and the pharmaceutical industry, to switch from conventional spectrophotometers to micro-plate readers for their routine UV-visible measurements While micro-plates with good UV transmission are readily obtainable, until now the only reference materials designed for use with plate readers to provide evidence of control for wavelength and absorbance accuracy have been filter based and unsuitable for use at the UV wavelengths at which many critical measurements are made

These new liquid references provide a comprehensive fully traceable validation solution for all 96-well UV plate readers.

The new Starna range of liquid micro-plate reader CRM's has a unique (patent applied for) well plate cell design.

It also allows certification by Starna in a similar manner to conventional cuvettes, using one of the reference spectrophotometers in the Starna Ukas accredited laboratory.

The whole range of Starna liquid references will become available in this new format.

All Starna CRMs are produced in an environment accredited to both ISO Guide 34 and ISO/IEC 17025, as now required by Ilac (International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation) for reference material producers.

The new micro-plate reader liquid references are also covered by the same lifetime guarantee and under the same conditions as the current reference materials, providing they have been used and stored correctly, and re-certified by Starna every two years.
