Due to popular demand, the Oxford Bioinformatocs Programme is running its Statistics for Biosciences again this academic year, on 12 May - 22 June 2008
This introductory course aims to bring participants up to speed with the relevant statistical techniques involved in bioinformatics today Andrew Dalby, course tutor, adds: "Statistics for biosciences is an introductory level statistics course
"The course covers data analysis and presentation as well as hypothesis testing and the use of non-parametric tests.
"The course is online and provides opportunities for students to interact and discuss issues arising form the use and abuse of statistics.
"Students are introduced to the R statistics package, an alternative open source programme for the display and analysis of data".
Cost: £500 (£650 for students who wish to gain accreditation by successfully completing an assignment).
