New products for clinical microbiology

The DuPont Qualicon RiboPrinter microbial characterisation system will be on show.
The RiboPrinter provides an automated genetic fingerprint (RiboPrint pattern) of any bacterium in less than eight hours and enables similarities and subtle differences between bacteria to be detected to aid in epidemiological studies.
The system allows users to share data electronically, enabling them to take full advantage of the inherent reproducibility of RiboPrint pattern data.
Oxoid is the exclusive distributor for the DuPont Qualicon range in Europe and Australia.
Oxoid's aura image will also be available for demonstration on the stand.
Aura image is a powerful tool for antimicrobial susceptibility testing, incorporating an innovative image analysis system for accurate, automatic zone size measurement, plate barcode reader, automatic disc recognition, interpretative database and epidemiology package.
Visitors will be able to try out the Oxoid website to see for themselves the wealth of information that can be obtained.
