Paraytec claims silver at Pittcon 2007
Paraytec has been awarded the 2007 Pittcon Editors' silver award for the best new product, the ActiPix D100 - the world's first miniature multiplexed capillary UV area detector
The launch of the ActiPix D100 miniature UV imaging area detector - the world's first miniature multiplexed capillary UV area detector - was met with widespread acclaim from visiting scientists and the world's scientific press says Paraytec The novel instrument that allows minute (picolitre to nanolitre) volumes to be measured with high sensitivity without sacrificing spatial resolution, drew the comment from the editors' panel that the ActiPix was a "novel and innovative product" that "transcended" boundaries in its contribution to life and analytical sciences

The Pittcon Award follows closely on the heels of Paraytec's recent success having been awarded a major prize for new product innovation.
Paraytec's ActiPix detection instrument was judged the best innovative new product with high growth potential developed by a company in Yorkshire, UK.
Paraytec was presented with the GSPK New Product Award and a prize package of £20,000.
Paraytec is a scientific instrument company based in York, UK, designing, developing and manufacturing miniature UV-Visible absorbance detectors.
Paraytec was established in January 2005 as a spin-out from the University of York chemistry department.
Paraytec's founders have developed and patented an advanced detection method for UV-Vis absorbance measurement, using capillaries in conjunction with sophisticated optics and active pixel area sensors.
The result is a powerful new imaging detection technology platform, which is set to revolutionise UV-Vis absorbance.
