Queen's award for export achievement given to Scottish manufacturer of laboratory gas generator equipment

A Scottish gas generator manufacturer is celebrating winning the UK's top accolade for export performance Peak Scientific Instruments makes nitrogen, hydrogen and zero air gas generators for use in laboratories

It now sells its products to over 50 countries worldwide and that success has seen their export orders leap by an amazing 153% during the past three years.

And, in the past twelve months exports have equalled 81% of the company's total sales.

Now, in recognition of that terrific effort, Peak Scientific Instruments has received the Queen's Award 2004 for International Trade.

Managing director Robin MacGeachy said: "This is a tremendous honour for the company and a tribute to the hard work of all our staff.

"One of the keys to our success has been establishing a technical support desk that is manned from 8am to 10pm allowing overseas customers greater flexibility when they need to talk to one of our support engineers.

"We've also established an updated website and again that gives potential customers the opportunity to study our product and company information".

The company have also been encouraging potential customers and agents to visit their facility to gain first hand knowledge of how the state of the art generators are manufactured and to meet the people making them.
