A unique barcode is assigned to each plate alongside positive and negative controls, increasing the rate at which results can be processed and minimising the risk of manual plate-reading errors

Perceptive Instruments's Ames Study Manager for the bacterial reverse mutation test now comes with a fully customisable barcoding system An integrated suite of software specifically designed to meet the requirements of safety assessment laboratories, CROs, medical device and chemical manufacturers, Ames Study Manager (ASM) can be combined with the Sorcerer colony counting system to create a complete streamlined package for Ames testing

A unique barcode is assigned to each experimental treatment plate alongside positive and negative controls, increasing the rate at which the results can be processed from the plate counts and minimising the risk of manual plate-reading errors.

Labels are then generated which include the barcode and lab sample ID only, or additionally other customised information such as the bacterial strain, metabolic activation agent, concentration and solvent volume.

Following incubation under the appropriate experimental conditions, the software-controlled barcode reader scans the plates and leads the cursor in the ASM Plate Editor window to jump to the relevant plate for automatic counting instructed by a single key press.

In response to guidelines issued by the ICH (International Conference on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use), a common technical document (CTD) summary report can be generated by the software.

Password protected to prevent modification, the CTD report can be easily incorporated into final documents for submission to regulatory bodies such as the FDA.

All Perceptive Instruments image analysis and data processing products are designed, developed, produced, installed and serviced in accordance with policy and procedures of a quality management system certified to ISO9001:2000 and TickIT (Issue 5).
