Yeast cell count method available on Cellometer

A Peqlab product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Jul 3, 2009

Peqlab has announced that a new rapid automated method to count yeast cells and analyse viability is available using its Cellometer Vision automated cell counter platform.

Tests require 20 micro-litres of cell suspension and results are available in around 30 seconds with minimal set-up.

Data is presented on screen in a clear 'what did it count' view and numerical data including cell count, concentration and viability.

Designed for use by the yeast research community, biofuel scientists and fermentation and brewery facilities, this application uses a novel staining technique for quick and dependable results.

This assay is universally suitable for a range of yeast species and sizes.

The Cellometer automated cell counter offers highly reproducible, accurate and transparent cell analysis with quick turnaround times.

The system requires no calibration, no cleaning and no servicing and is in use in research, commercial and industrial settings.
