Pre-cut tubes for chromatography and
microfluidics
Peek tubing has several advantages over fused silica, being more flexible, less abrasive, and less surface active
Traditionally, scientists working on miniaturised LC or fluidics systems have used fused silica as the tubing of choice for connecting fluid lines Peek tubing has several advantages over fused silica
It is more flexible, less likely to snap, easier to handle and less abrasive should it contact vulnerable valve stators or rotor seals.
Another major consideration is that fused silica is surface active and prone to binding polar molecules or generating an electro-osmotic flow.
Using Peek can avoid these problems and make the analyst's life easier.
Presearch's pre-cut Peek tubing is manufactured by Upchurch and comes in four internal diameters, 50, 75, 100 and 150æm in 30cm lengths.
It is also professionally cut and polished and ready to connect, so the user is guaranteed the best possible connection, vital in miniaturised analysis.
