Nanoscale flow rates in this liquid chromatography system for proteomics are controlled by microfluidics, eliminating need for flow splitting

MDS Sciex has appointed Presearch as its channel partner to exclusively distribute NanoLC proteomics systems in the UK The NanoLC was first launched in June 2003 during the American Society of Mass Spectrometry conference

The system is based on Eksigent Technologies's microfluidic flow control (MFC) technology, which uses rapid feedback to an electronically controlled pressure source to maintain precise nanoscale flow rates.

The NanoLC system does not require flow splitting, as is necessary with currently available technologies for nanoscale chromatography.

In addition to being a stand-alone product, the NanoLC system can also be used in LC/MS identification of peptides for proteomics studies.

The system provides significant enhancements in detection sensitivity and reproducibility, while simultaneously improving ease of set-up, operation, and maintenance.

The NanoLC system will include a complete line of instruments and consumables.
