Early clinical phase drug development firm appoints data manager to implement a new clinical data management service

Early clinical phase drug development firm Pharmaceutical Profiles has appointed Geoff Charlwood to implement a new clinical data management service As data manager, he will be responsible for establishing and implementing the new service, which will enable the Nottingham-based company to provide complete data reporting to its pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients from in-house resources

According to Charlwood, an in-house data management service will improve the company's offering: "In bringing this key service in-house, Pharmaceutical Profiles will be able to offer something distinctive from external data management groups - responsiveness," he explained.

"Our staff will be close to the source of the data, and will have expert knowledge of the very specialised kind of trial that the company does." Charlwood brings more than 20 years experience in clinical data management gained working for both pharmaceutical companies and contract research organisations, including periods with Knoll Pharmaceuticals, Abbott Laboratories and G D Searle.

Pharmaceutical Profiles new service will meet the standards of Good Clinical Practice and will also conform to the emerging standards of Good Clinical Data Management Practice, to and 21 CFR 21 11, and the FDA's directive on electronic signatures.
