That's the hospital in Bridgend, not the heir to the throne, by the way - the colour Doppler was one of the main reasons for the choice

The radiology department at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Bridgend, Wales, was so happy with the HDI 5000 Ultrasound System it purchased two years ago that it had no hesitation in going back to Philips Ultrasound when it needed another instrument Elaine Thomas, superintendent radiographer, explained: "We have a new HDI 5000 SonoCT and have upgraded the existing HDI 5000 to SonoCT too

We are very happy with the difference SonoCT makes, the images are much clearer." "The colour Doppler on the HDI 5000 is very good and one of the main reasons we decided to go for this system again.

Both systems are used for all general imaging, including abdominal, vascular, musculoskeletal and gynaecological applications.

Having two systems suitable for vascular imaging has helped cope with the increasing workload in this area.

We also now have a vaginal probe, which has been very successful for the gynae work, and the hockey stick probe, which is excellent for musculoskeletal examinations, especially fingers and small limbs." Elaine concluded: "The HDI 5000 is user-friendly and the quality of the images and colour Doppler are first rate.

We've always had excellent service from Philips Ultrasound - the team is both knowledgeable and friendly.".
