The Radiology Department at Harrogate District Hospital has recently purchased a new Philips Ultrasound HDI 5000 Sono CT system to deal with the increasing demand for ultrasound examinations Dr David Scullion, Consultant Radiologist, explained: "We are a general radiology department performing a wide and varied range of acute and elective ultrasound examinations including general abdominal, small parts, vascular, obstetrics and gynaecological applications

We required another high-end platform in order to cope with the increased complexity of, and demand for, ultrasound examinations." "Following evaluation of the available systems we decided upon Philips Ultrasound for a number of reasons.

These included the overall quality of imaging and the impressive sensitivity of the Doppler facility.

The user interface has remained familiar and constant over the years, so that with the minimum of effort and tuition you can be up and running." "Clearly service and technical support are crucial.

Based on our recent experiences during procurement in Harrogate, and the past relationships with Philips in other units, we are confident that we have made the right choice.".
