Photon Power Technology announces the Universal Voltronics VISyn system for use in particle physics applications.
The 1450 Visyn (pronounced 'vision') series is designed to fulfil the requirements of the most demanding high voltage applications by providing the ultimate in flexibility and performance.
The system is based on a modular, open architecture.
It consists of two mainframe styles, a choice of controller architectures, and a variety of HV cards, all designed for use in high-energy physics research using HV detector arrays.
The inherent modularity with interchangeable cards and multiple mainframes with different power capabilities allows for tailoring the system to specific performance/scale requirements.
System expansion is as simple as adding more cards, power supplies or mainframes.
A versatile control interface, with assured reliability Visyn system HV cards are designed to produce stable outputs with low noise (ripple).
Output accuracy is guaranteed by innovative designs and a traceable calibration procedure performed at the factory.
The Visyn system is designed for high reliability, serviceability and long operating life.
Wherever possible, the use of limited life components are avoided.
High efficiency bulk power supplies are used to minimize consumption and to guarantee long life.
Major sections of the mainframe are modular and can be replaced easily.
All interfaces operate with the PropertySum and ModuleSum algorithms which significantly reduce system overhead when monitoring the Visyn cards and mainframes.
PropertySum and ModuleSum provide a series of status words for each HV card and mainframe.
Visyn provides the highest performance, yet it's easy to use.
For instance, data is displayed in a spreadsheet format.
Parameters are battery backed-up and remote operation with local display is supported.
Additionally, the 1454 allows complete local HV control over all the channels in its mainframe through its front panel display and keypad.
