Monochrome/colour cameras for machine vision

A Firstsight Vision product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Oct 20, 2004

Both colour and mono versions use the CameraLink interface, allowing a user selectable readout of 10 or 8 bits, and both feature standard trigger modes including reset continuous trigger mode

The CV-A10 CL from JAI is the successor to the JAI CV-M10, which has been one of the most popular cameras in the machine vision market, renowned for its robust build quality and consistent performance according to Firstsight Vision.

The monochrome CV-A10 CL uses the latest generation of Sony progressive scan sensors with 782x582 pixel resolution, and the 1/2" format sensor benefits from a large pixel size (8.3x8.3um) resulting in higher CCD sensitivity.

The CV-A10 CL has a frame rate of 60 frames/second at full resolution, while maintaining an S/N ratio of >56dB.

It also offers several binning and partial scan readout modes, allowing frame rates up to 250 frames/sec to be achieved.

The CV-A70CL is the colour version of the CV-A10CL and is built around a single 1/2" progressive scan sensor using a Bayer colour mosaic filter, also giving a resolution of 782x582.

The colour processing is done on the host PC, allowing full control over the Bayer to RGB conversion.

Both the CV-A10 CL and CV-A70 CL use the CameraLink interface, allowing a user selectable readout of 10 or 8 bits.

Both cameras feature standard trigger modes including reset continuous trigger mode, for use with auto iris lenses.
