Priorclave and BioCote have a long-standing exclusive agreement to incorporate the revolutionary BioCote powder coating technology into the manufacture of their entire range of laboratory autoclaves

Such has been the success of the combined technologies, say the companies, that they renewed their vows at Medica 07 for a further three years The silver based, coating technology incorporated into the exterior surfaces of the Priorclaves aids the fight against cross-infection by inhibiting the growth of a wide range of micro-organisms, including bacteria such as E-Coli, Listeria, and Pseudomonas and the superbug MRSA within hospital, biochemical and pharmaceutical laboratory environments as well as food industry, research sectors and many others

Since the launch of BioCote the reduced risk of cross-infection and cross-contamination has been dramatic and its effectiveness validated many times over through independently monitored laboratory tests across many disciplines.

The most recent has been that carried out on a facility within the Heartlands Hospital where a building containing BioCote protected products had 95.8% less bacteria present in the environment than the standard facility with no BioCote present.

Further tests have proven that unprotected equipment within a 'BioCote protected' environment also benefits by as much as a 43.5% reduction in bacteria on their surfaces.

No less vital is the maintenance of the hygiene standards within a busy working laboratory where the Priorclave surface will be inevitably touched by operatives handling organisms during normal shared use of the equipment and is, therefore, likely to be an area where cross-contamination may be an issue.

Typical sterilisation applications cover media preparation, glassware and instruments, and waste disposal and are all critical in the maintenance of good hygiene practice and sterile working conditions.

It is in this arena that Priorclave continue to have the world's first range of sterilisers with the capacity to inhibit the growth of bacteria, not only on the inside - but also on the outside.

This technology however, should be regarded as an enhancement to, and not a replacement of, good cleaning and sterilisation practice. Request free introductory details about products from Priorclave ...
