Phase shifters for interferometry and spectroscopy
High-speed phase shifters are compact and extremely responsive systems offering angstrom level resolution with piston movement up to 2um with sub-msec response and settling dynamics
The S-303 series of high-speed phase shifters from nanopositioning specialist PI are compact and extremely responsive systems based on a tripod piezo drive.
They offer angstrom level resolution with piston movement up to 2um with sub-msec response and settling dynamics.
The shifters are designed for mirrors and optics up to 25mm diameter and can be mounted in any orientation.
Open- and closed-loop versions are available.
Typical applications include interferometry, optical path tuning, spectroscopy, beam stabilisation, laser physics, and cavity tuning.
The shifters are smaller, faster and more precise than previously available systems.
They incorporate a miniature tripod piezo drive providing a very high resonant frequency of 25kHz, for high-speed scanning and positioning with sub-millisecond settling dynamics.
Non-contact, direct-measuring capacitive position sensors are integrated in the closed-loop models for applications requiring very high linearity, sub-nanometer positioning stability, repeatability and precision.
A variety of low-noise analogue and 20-bit digital controllers are available to drive the shifters.
