PerkinElmer will provide its Labworks Enhanced Security (ES) Lims software for managing critical laboratory data for the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
A single, centralised point of authentication controls access to all applications and data, greatly enhancing security - a major consideration when setting up a 21 CFR Part 11-compliant environment.
The programme is configured to meet user specifications, rather than customised, simplifying revalidation when changes are made to meet evolving laboratory requirements.
New features include de-restriction of the names and lengths of data fields; 'Quick Help' screens, a process scheduler that runs on a hand-held computer, streamlined multi-sample login, and a Document Reference Programme, to ensure that current versions of standard documents are used.
Labworks (ES) is based on Labworks Enterprise Lims, a true multi-tier, client/server application, providing process and laboratory management solutions to improve productivity.
Labworks functions with a range of industry-standard databases, in small and large laboratories.
It offers a variety of data access and reporting capabilities, from direct client access to web access, or enterprise-wide data mining, and may be integrated with popular MRP applications, such as Sap R/3.
Sample login, tracking and validation, results entry, flexible reporting, analysis code, invoicing, security and data archiving are among the standard features, with optional laser barcoding, certificates of analysis, instrument interfaces, QA/QC, control charts, instrument calibration, process scheduler, and sample prescheduler.
