Earlier in 2003, PerkinElmer Optoelectronics was presented the 2002 Golden Flag Award by the president of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Sukarnoputri.
The award recognises PerkinElmer's Batam operations for achieving the highest score for SMK3 certification, a process that measures the implementation of the mandatory occupational health and safety management system within a company.
The objective of SMK3 is to ensure continuous improvement towards a safe working environment and better health of employees.
