During the second quarter of 2003, PerkinElmer was one of only three companies in the United Kingdom to be honoured with two Queen's Awards for Enterprise

PerkinElmer has been recognised for its technology and leadership in the optoelectronics market with three international awards, including two Queen's Awards for Enterprise 2003 and the 2002 Golden Flag Award During the second quarter of 2003, PerkinElmer was one of only three companies in the United Kingdom to be honoured with two Queen's Awards for Enterprise 2003, the most prestigious corporate accolade that can be bestowed upon a business in the United Kingdom

The Queen's Award for Innovation 2003 recognises the achievements of PerkinElmer's FD440/Chromos11 products, which test how much data can be transmitted over high-speed optical telecommunications networks, ensuring optimal network performance.

The Queen's Award for International Trade 2003 recognises PerkinElmer's exceptional performance in international sales.

With products sold to more than 50 countries, the company's success has been built upon strong in-market representation and distribution, market-dedicated technical sales teams, and total commitment to customer support and training.

Earlier in 2003, PerkinElmer Optoelectronics was presented the 2002 Golden Flag Award by the president of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Sukarnoputri.

The award recognises PerkinElmer's Batam operations for achieving the highest score for SMK3 certification, a process that measures the implementation of the mandatory occupational health and safety management system within a company.

The objective of SMK3 is to ensure continuous improvement towards a safe working environment and better health of employees.

"These awards are representative of PerkinElmer's commitment to serving our global customers through innovation, operational excellence and best-in-class manufacturing practices to drive next-generation solutions for biomedical imaging and industrial smart devices," said John Murphy, president, PerkinElmer Optoelectronics.

"PerkinElmer's success is the direct result of our technology expertise, our commitment to top-notch service and support, and the dedication of our employees to ensuring that our customers achieve business success.".
