TurboMass 5.0 includes a number of templates designed to meet the needs of specific users, especially those who conduct forensic, clinical or toxicological diagnostics, and general chemical analysis.
Chemists in these fields frequently must report results that meet specific requirements.
The new TurboMass software will provide the multiple-ion ratio in reports used for trace analysis and needed by police and medical labs to ensure the credibility of their results in drug-abuse investigations.

"The enhanced reporting available in our new TurboMass software brings exceptional ease-of-use and flexible customisation to users who often have to distill the results of complex analyses for non-technical audiences," said Jon Rennert, vice president and general manager, Environmental and Chemical Analysis, at PerkinElmer.
"These users can now rely on either the proven standard templates in TurboMass or use our graphical tools to quickly build template layouts that position data and graphs to fit their own unique needs." In addition to boosting daily productivity, the simplicity of the new TurboMass 5.0 report generation software also minimizes training.
The graphical Communiqu? template designer interface is shared across other PerkinElmer instrument platforms to simplify cross-training of laboratory workers.
TurboMass 5.0 optionally includes the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) 2002 library for searching against the spectra of more than 147,000 compounds.
Results can be printed to reflect the precise formatting established on-screen or they can be exported for additional analysis in word processing and HTML documents or spreadsheets.
TurboMass 5.0 software supports the easy-to-use Clarus 500 GC/MS, which provides fast scanning speeds and the widest mass range of any GC/MS instrument.
The new software is user installable on Clarus instruments and will be available in October on all new Clarus systems.
Software upgrade paths are available for existing users of TurboMass, TurboMass Gold, and Clarus 500 GC/MS systems.
