Key management promotions at PerkinElmer
Robert Friel appointed vice chairman and elected to board of directors; Jeffrey Capello appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer

The company also announced that it has appointed Jeffery Capello to senior vice president and chief financial officer.
As vice chairman of the company, Friel will direct corporate-wide operational improvement initiatives along with business development.
From 1999, Friel has served as senior vice president and then subsequently executive vice president and chief financial officer.
In his new role of senior vice president and chief financial officer, Capello will oversee the company's financial operations.
Capello has served as the company's vice president of finance including corporate control and treasury since 2001.
"Rob and Jeff have been critical contributors to PerkinElmer's success and we are very pleased with their promotions to greater levels of responsibility.
"Their new assignments strengthen the breadth and depth of our management team and help ensure that we have the leadership team to continue our progress," said Gregory Summe, chairman, president and chief executive officer, PerkinElmer.
The company announced that the management and board appointments would be effective 1 January 2006.
