Polyatomic interferences eliminated by use of dynamic reaction cell to provide ultratrace-level detection limits and variable axial field technology for high speed

PerkinElmer's new Elan DRC II ICP-MS combines the power of the patented Dynamic Reaction Cell (DRC) with Variable Axial Field technology, for maximum sensitivity and performance It is the ultimate analytical tool for all applications, including environmental, clinical, and geochemical, where optimal performance in challenging matrices is required

The DRC II may also be used in ICP-MS mode, with all the benefits of the advanced Elan 9000 ICP-MS and the advantage of an improved signal/noise ratio.

Unlike collision cell, high-resolution, or cold plasma systems, the DRC II completely eliminates polyatomic interferences, providing ultratrace-level detection limits.

The DRC II uses chemical resolution to eliminate plasma-based polyatomic species before they reach the quadrupole mass spectrometer.

This improves detection limits for elements such as Fe, Ca, K, Mg, As, Se, Cr, and V.

DRC technology not only reduces the primary interference; it eliminates sequential side reactions that create new interferences.

Variable Axial Field Technology applies a linearly accelerating axial field to the Dynamic Reaction Cell, decreasing matrix effects, improving stability, and increasing the speed of the DRC.

A new sample introduction system uses an integrated peristaltic pump to dramatically reduce sample uptake time.

Tubing saver ensures optimum measurement precision and prolongs peristaltic tube lifetimes.

Improved design permits the use of a heat exchange based cooling system, replacing expensive, unreliable chillers without compromising performance.
