Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 5, 2008

The new software is designed to increase efficiency in laboratory and teaching environments by providing simple, intuitive spectrometer control, data analysis and reporting

PerkinElmer introduced new Spectrum Express software for the Spectrum 100 and Spectrum One series spectrometers.

Spectrum Express improves productivity with a process chain feature that allows the user to combine a series of data processing steps into a single process command.

Once set up, the process chain can be recalled like any single process from the menu.

The software also features a compare function that provides simple materials checking by allowing the user to compare one spectrum against another or against a directory of spectra.

There is a spectral library search tool that assists users with the identification of unknown samples.

Users can search the most commonly used spectral libraries as well as the user's own custom libraries.
