Controlling access to high value
products
Storage units offer a range of access control systems and contents monitoring technology to protect valuable or restricted items
Polstore, in conjunction with CasC, says it has solved the problem of controlling access to high value and high quality consumable and manufactured products in the workplace, thus protecting from wastage and unauthorised use Using patented and electronic systems, access is denied to unauthorised personnel, with the system restricting access to individual drawers on a user-by-user basis

CasC units may be either static or mobile, and are designed to retain internal configuration even in the event of extreme power loss.
Designs range from touch button access through to smart card readers and, where appropriate, fingerprint recognition.
Systems maybe interfaced with existing software, internal security protocols or tool management systems.

CasC can be constructed from two drawer units, up to sixteen drawer cabinets for high volume usage.
A one key facility is available for multi-cabinet use, utilising entire facilities through network cards.
As designer and manufacturer of the units, CasC has the added advantage of offering total flexibility in all environments.
High levels of security can be easily achieved by creating a controlled-access secure area within an existing environment.
CasC offers a wide range of solutions with regard to the access required: level, type, data retention and handling of items.
CasCMaster.
The cabinet is modified by the addition of CasCMaster - a control electronics console, electronic locks and illuminated push buttons.
In addition, various methods of entry may be employed, such as i-button, swipe and smart card access, fingerprint recognition and retinal scan recognition.
In use, the cabinet stands idle only communicating with a PC that can optionally connect to warn of possible violation such as removal of power or disconnection.
Operation: in case say of the i-button, the user must have their button authorised so that all button access rights are programmed into the system.
The user places the button onto the cabinet sensor and upon correct recognition the cabinet buzzer notifies acceptance.
All access drawer lights will flash where access is permitted.
Once accessed, if the drawer is not closed within the pre-determined time scale the alarm will sound until the drawer is closed.
The above access is automatically logged into a non-volatile memory until requested for via a connected PC.
CascMaster also contains mains conditioning circuitry, a battery for use in the event of power failure or portable use, a control processor based on PIC technology and audible warning devices.
CasCam-Win software is a fully integrated software package communicating with CasC cabinets, logging access data and maintaining the database.
CasC cabinets support up to 16 cabinets on one local RS485 connection.
The software is fully networkable and the local database of users would be maintained by any authorised user connected to the computer intranet.
CasCam-Win has the ability to view and review logged access data via criteria options such as browsing accesses by person, time, drawer or multiple combinations.
Software may be linked to existing software packages such as tool management systems or internal security systems.
New developments.
Drawer scanning: the cabinet can have a scanning detector within each drawer.
Where the drawer is opened or closed, the contents may be scanned by an image processor.
The scanned data is passed to the image recognition processor, which identifies parts removed or replaced.
Item chipping: by locating chipping systems to individual items, where required, access is monitored as well as the capability of tracking removed items such as confidential files.
Weighing systems: with the use of specially produced sensor pads the CasC units can be designed to control single items.
Thus protecting and logging the use of precious metals, specialist cutting tools, calibrated equipment, arms and weaponry.
