Circular development in laser diode
range
Hitachi's latest MARU Beam Series red laser diodes offer the world's first circular beam with a 1.2 (typ.) aspect ratio for laser diodes in the 635nm wavelength band
Photonic Products is making further additions to Hitachi's latest MARU Beam Series red laser diodes that offer the world's first circular beam with a 1.2 (typ.) aspect ratio for laser diodes in the 635nm wavelength band The latest diodes in this series are the HL6343G and HL6344G, which use a 9mm package with 10mW optical output and the HL6347MG and HL6348MG which use a 5.6mm package with a 10mW optical output

635nm SC receptacle laser diode
With applications including fibre break locators and scientific instruments, this diode provides up to 1mW max of laser output at 635nm wavelength
They are designed by self-aligned refractive index (SRI), active layer structure.
The change from the previous elliptical beam to a circular beam with a 1.2 (typ.) aspect ratio makes it possible to simplify the beam forming optics required in products such as laser levellers and laser scanners, resulting in significant cost savings for OEMs.
The Gaussian intensity profile of the circular beam gives a sharper, brighter and thus more visible output beam ensuring their suitability as a light source for general alignment applications and optical measurement equipment.
At 35mA (typ.) (Po=5mW, Tc=25C), the low operating current, (Iop), is approximately 30% lower than Hitachi's previous low operating current laser diodes, enabling the HL6343G, HL6344G, HL6347MG and HL6348MG to be used in the same environments as current Hitachi models while offering an extended battery life.
These Hitachi laser diodes have an optical output power of 10mW at a visible wavelength of 635nm, a low threshold current, (Ith), of 50mA, typical operating current, (Iop), of 35mA, low operating voltage, (Vop), of 2.4V, LD reverse voltage, (VR(LD)), of 2V, PD reverse voltage, (VR(PD)), of 30V, differential efficiency, (dPo/dIop), of 0.8mW/mA and an operating temperature range of -10C to +50C.
