Reardon's remit will include growing the laser innovator's market share and defining and meeting the next generation requirements of Powerlase's customers.
Prior to joining Powerlase, Reardon enjoyed 20 years in the capital sales sector.
Seven of these were spent as managing director of Nd:Yag laser manufacturer New Wave Research (NWR).
During his time at NWR, Reardon established a UK-based subsidiary of the company responsible for sales and customer service in Europe.
Under Reardon's direction, the company grew market share to over 80 percent, from less than 25 percent, becoming the number one manufacturer in just three years.

"We have a reputation of customer-driven applications success and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the Powerlase pedigree in technology innovation.
"Our development of new products and applications is based on close and increasingly collaborative working relationships with our customers to identify, develop and deliver the next generation of laser manufacturing technologies".
Tony King, Powerlase CEO, comments: "We have just posted 400% growth for the past 12 months.
"This appointment is a real statement of intent for Powerlase in our efforts to increase our already impressive performance, both in terms of acquiring market share and it terms of enhancing our reputation as a truly customer-focused manufacturer.
"Everything we do has the customer in mind and we are looking forward to Kevin strengthening both aspects of the business for our PDP applications business.".
