Demand for Profibus certification hots
up
Despite general gloom and despondency in the UK manufacturing sector, demand to become certified as a Profibus Network Engineer is outstripping supply
With both the September and the December 2001 courses sold out, the next opportunity to get certified as a Profibus engineer will be in the week of 25 March 2002 at the Profibus Competence Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) Already a proven success in the USA - check the list of current graduates under 'Profitech' on the web site at - this 3½ day course satisfies the growing demand for engineers with proven qualifications in networking for industrial applications

For anybody involved in installing fieldbuses, the group has a new course, the Certified Profibus Installer.
It's being launched at MMU on 19 October in response to the need for greater awareness of the special considerations that must be applied when installing fieldbuses - not just Profibus but any fieldbus.
The Certified Profibus Installer course will provide a recognised qualification for electrical engineers and technicians needing to upgrade their skills to include fieldbus installation.
The cost of the one day course is £375 inclusive for non-members and £325 for members of the UK group.
There's also the Profibus Conference on 16 November where delegates will be brought up to date on the broad range of latest Profibus developments including Profinet, Profisafe, Profidrive and DPV2.
Other training opportunities in the pipeline include applications workshops and IEC 1131-3 short courses taking place oat MMU in December 2001 and March 2002.
