Great Yarmouth-based Gardline Environmental has invested in a Priorlux compound microscope and Zoom 40 stereo microscopes from Prior Scientific.
The Zoom stereo microscopes are used for inspection and to identify the different phyla of marine invertebrates, such as crustaceans, molluscs, annelids and so on.
The Priorlux microscope enables the scientists to identify the different species - for example, identifying the different annelid species can be achieved by inspecting the gills at higher magnification.
