Swing-out ball valves
Parker Instrumentation has launched a new range of swing-out ball valves offering high pressure operation to 2500psig as standard - a figure which it says is up to 100% higher than alternatives
The new SWB series valves combine the easy maintenance advantages of swing-out construction, with a body design that allows the valve module to swivel on any of the corner bolts for complete flexibility of mounting Installation is further eased by the optional availability of valves with integral compression tube ends, simplifying assembly while additionally reducing both size and the number of potential leak paths in the fluid system

Eighteen versions of SWB series valves are available initially, for tube or pipe sizes from 1/4 to 1 inch (6 to 25 mm) - a range suiting both process and instrumentation valve applications.
Fabricated from stainless steel, the valves are rated at 2500psig/172 bar as standard.
As most users choose swing-out style valves for their high coefficient of flow (Cv) ratings, this high pressure capability provides a useful additional boost for users seeking to maximise flow rates.
A wide temperature range is another common feature of swing-out ball valves, and the new SWB series comes initially with seat and seal options which allow operation from -54 to +232C, and with a wide variety of media.
SWB series valves may be specified with NPT thread for pipe applications, with A-Lok or CPI twin- or single-ferrule compression tube end connections for instrumentation purposes, or even custom combinations thanks to Parker's computer-controlled build-to-demand European manufacturing line.
