In 2006, a C trachomatis strain carrying a deletion in the cryptic plasmid was discovered in Sweden.
Test systems targeting the affected sequence region fail to detect the infection.
In contrast, Artus PCR Kits enable reliable detection also of the new C trachomatis strain, since these tests target a none-deleted region of the cryptic plasmid.
The Artus C trachomatis PCR kit is available for ABI Prism 7000, 7700, 7900HT SDS; Artus C trachomatis Plus PCR kits are available for LightCycler 1.1/1.2/1.5/2.0 Instruments and Rotor-Gene 3000.
The Artus C trachomatis PCR kit and Artus C trachomatis Plus PCR kits are not available in USA / Canada.
