Regulators, process operators subject to IPPC regulations, local authorities, stack-monitoring consultants, and users are all invited to attend the workshop

Workshop: 10.00-11.00 am, 21 November 2002, stand 35, Em-Certs, Bretby Conference Centre, Burton-on-Trent, Staffs Daniel Calabrese from LN Industries, Geneva, Switzerland, will lead a practical workshop entitled 'Practical Use of Gas Diluters for Gas Analysis Calibration' at the Em-Certs exhibition on environmental monitoring and certification

Regulators, process operators subject to Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) regulations, local authorities, stack-monitoring consultants, and users are all invited to attend the workshop.

An expert on calibration systems for stack monitors, Calabrese will present LNI's Sonimix gas diluters, which offer a convenient route to calibration, as they avoid the need to transport a whole collection of calibration-gas cylinders from site to site when monitoring stack emissions.

With practical examples, Calabrese will show how the Sonimix range uses precision mass-flow controllers, which take less than a minute to prepare calibration gases by diluting a single standard gas with either air or nitrogen.

This approach greatly reduces the number of gas cylinders that need to be transported.

The Sonimix range can generate mixtures of up to six different gas species with an accuracy of 0.5% and repeatability of 0.2%.

All instrument calibrations are traceable to Nist (US National Institute of Standards and Technology) and most other national standards, including Ukas (UK Accreditation Service).

LSI's Sonimix range comprises rugged, portable systems and installed Cems (continuous emissions monitoring system), which are marketed exclusively in the UK by Quantitech.
