Accelerating new catalytic ligands
Aiming to provide a Europe wide resource for distributing new ligands and information about their catalytic activity between research groups
The European Ligand Bank (LigBank) has selected Radleys Discovery Technologies (RDT) to supply products from its range of innovative parallel chemistry equipment to all eight members of this consortium.
Founded throughwith the support of the European Community's Sixth Framework programme the LigBank consortium is aiming to provide a Europe wide resource for distributing new ligands and information about their catalytic activity between research groups.
With new catalytic processes representing one of the fastest growing sectors of the global fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals market the need to accelerate the synthesis and discovery of new ligand additives that strongly promote target catalytic reactions is a key objective.
The primary parallel chemistry equipment to be supplied by RDT will include Carousel 12-place reaction station and Greenhouse products.
Commenting on the deal, Simon Woodward (LigBank Coordinator) stated "because of their portable, versatile nature and technical simplicity this equipment has very high potential for identification of new procedures in the area of selective (asymmetric) catalysis".
With over 6000 systems installed worldwide, RDT claims to be the market leader for affordable parallel synthesis tools, offering an unrivalled range of synthesisers and work-up systems to aid the productivity of chemists.
In conjunction with the LigBank Consortium, RDT will also be studying the applications for which the equipment is being used to identify and investigate technological developments that may further improve ligand synthesis and catalysis evaluation procedures.
The development of these new products will be undertaken by RDT.
