DVD has live demo of productive parallel chemistry

A Radleys product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 24, 2006

Radleys has produced a new DVD that provides a comprehensive introduction as to why the Carousel 12 Reaction Station has become the world's most popular personal parallel chemistry synthesiser

For chemists looking for versatile tools to help boost the productivity of their chemistry the new DVD provides an overview of the Carousel 12 (originally developed in conjunction with GlaxoSmithKline).

The audio-visual presentation demonstrates the many features and benefits of the best selling Carousel 12.

A live demonstration of the product illustrates its ease of set-up, operation and safety features.

Offering a cost effective personal synthesis tool for parallel solution phase chemistry and solid supported reagent based synthesis the Carousel Reaction Station converts a standard single place stirrer hotplate into a 12 position stirred and heated reaction station with reflux cooling.

A central gas inlet and radial gas distribution system, combined with gas-tight PTFE caps, allow reactions under inert atmosphere.

The water-cooled aluminium reflux head provides efficient condensing and refluxing within individual glass reaction tubes.

Powerful stirring and efficient mixing are provided using rare earth cross-shaped stirring bars.

Every aspect of the Carousel Reaction Station has been designed for convenience and ease of use.

The round design makes all 12 reaction tubes (1-20ml per tube) visible with no need to lean into the fume cupboard.

New quick release water coupling with cut-off valves enables easy connection or removal of the cooling water to the reflux head.

With no electrical or moving parts the Carousel 12 Reaction Station is extremely reliable and maintenance free.
