Dutch seminars to focus on motion system accuracy
Delegates will learn about encoders for precision position feedback, from non-contact optical linear and angle technologies to advanced laser interferometry for work requiring picometre accuracies
To update motion system designers with the latest technologies available for position feedback, performance analysis and calibration, world leading metrology company Renishaw will present two free technical seminar days at the Mikrocentrum, Eindhoven on 27 and 28 September 2006.
Titled 'Picometres to arc-seconds - the art of accuracy', the seminars will enable delegates to learn about a wide range of encoder solutions for precision position feedback applications, from non-contact, optical linear and angle feedback technologies, through to the most advanced laser interferometric devices suited to applications requiring picometre accuracies.
The important topic of motion system performance analysis will also be covered, highlighting to delegates the powerful technologies available to test systems throughout development and offer full product calibration.
A further attraction for attendees will be the opportunity to experience the technologies during the seminar, with a series of practical hands-on demonstrations by technology experts.
Focused on smaller groups of delegates, these interactive sessions have proved extremely popular at previous events held by Renishaw, allowing detailed questions to be dealt with in a more informal environment.
Topics covered during 'Picometres to arc-seconds - the art of accuracy' will include the latest developments in linear encoder technology, new innovations in precision rotary position feedback, interferometric solutions for motion system calibration and analysis, advanced homodyne interferometry for precision motion control, and the use of differential interferometry for motion control in vacuum applications.
Renishaw is a respected leader in the field of metrology and motion system control, and has received many accolades for its past technical seminar events.
In January 2006, a similar seminar to that planned for the Mikrocentrum was held in Israel.
This event received plaudits from many delegates, including Eladad Lapidot, sales and application manager for leading manufacturer Yaskawa Eshed Technology, who commented that: "The presentations were fluent and interesting, and my impression is that this was the best technical conference in which I have ever participated".
The technical seminar is free to businesses from the motion control industry.
