Rietschle (UK) Ltd is to launch the Twister VSB cool vacuum pump: a single-stage parallel screw design that meets ATEX 100A and temperature class T4 Unlike constant pitch screw sets where most of the compression is external, the Twister VSB introduces a patented, progressive pitch screw with internal compression

It's a highly efficient design with lower running temperatures and up to 30% savings on power consumption, compared with standard screw sets.

A presentation on the pump is available on a novel, credit card sized CD-ROM.

Offering high ultimate vacuum, and available in models from 70 up to 2200m3/h capacity, the non-contact, dry-running operation of the Twister VSB range makes it particularly suitable for thin layer evaporation and coating processes where clean, oil-free vacuum is needed.

Although the range meets temperature class T4 both externally and internally, it can also be fitted with an inverter for even cooler pumping duties.

Dry-running operation precludes process contamination and environmental pollution, and the Twister VSB range is fitted with rugged mechanical and gas barrier (optional) seals.

The pumps have very high liquid tolerance.

For instance the VSB430 can pump up to 1000 l/h continuously, at full speed: a feature that is also useful for internal cleaning in place, using process compatible solvent or steam.

Nodular cast iron pump chambers and screws are corrosion-proofed by coating them with PTFE, nickel (20 microns), or PFA.
